Toilet bowl of research.

Does anyone else swirl down the toilet bowl of RESEARCH to avoid things?

Just me? I’m the only one in the toilet bowl of research? I can’t get out. Help.

I enjoy getting lost learning about something cool, especially when I have dishes I need to wash or other boring work I need to do.

Tabs and tabs and tabs open, let me take a solid face-plant into a Google search. I love scouring a Reddit thread, watching a Ted Talk, indulging in a documentary, scribbling down notes, and thinking I can use a word like “posit” in everyday conversation because I read it in an academic journal.

I ride an interest wave until it crashes and disperses in bubbly foam because I know I won’t be interested in something forever. Topics ebb and flow. Sometimes it’s a flash in the pan of curiosity, and I need to seize the moment when it comes.

This is what my last three days have felt like—swirling in the toilet bowl, getting a little dizzy with information, not sure where this drain leads, but enjoying the ride nonetheless.
